Pillar 4 – Time [RECORDED COURSE SESSION]
About the event
Please note this is a recorded session available on demand as part of the Pillars of Strength Grief Academy programme.
Time can bend and stretch when we are grieving, making us feel disconnected and disoriented. For example, however long ago we were bereaved, it can feel like the death happened yesterday and many years ago. Time is often also the way that we measure or judge our grieving process: Should I feel like this at this point in my grief? Am I ‘doing it wrong’? In fact, grieving is not a linear process and there is no set timetable.
In this session, Julia covers:
- How does our experience of time change when we’ve been bereaved?
- How might our relationship with grief shift over time? Why doesn’t it follow a set timetable?
- How can we manage milestones and anniversaries?
- How can we set aside time to tend to our grief, while also looking after ourselves and managing other responsibilities?
This webinar is part of our Grief Academy course Julia Samuel’s Pillars of Strength. The course will give you immediate access to eight recorded webinars with Julia on demand for six months. We will also share extra course content such as reading lists — and there will be space to chat online and share reflections with other course members.
