Dr Sheena Sharma
Sheena is an experienced GP in Oxford. She also works in Postgraduate Education as an Associate GP Dean supporting the development of doctors who will be the next generation of GPs. She has a specialist interest in bereavement care both born through her work and inspired by her own experience of losing a child.
She has spent the last few years first developing a consultation toolkit and then co-creating an educational resource to help primary-care professionals to support patients who are experiencing loss and grief. She believes that the teams working in GP surgeries are uniquely placed to provide this care as they are in a position to recognise and help both the emotional and physical impact of grief over the long term.
