Experiences of Grief in Ethnically Diverse Communities: Panel Discussion and Film Launch
About the event
How is grief experienced in diverse cultural, ethnic and religious communities? What support would be beneficial? And how well do current services meet the needs of all bereaved people?
Join us to discuss these questions in a special panel discussion for National Grief Awareness Week 2025. Our speakers include Drs Sabrina Bajwah and Catriona Mayland, who led the national Equitable Bereavement Care for All research study – the most comprehensive exploration of bereavement experiences and support needs across ethnically diverse communities ever conducted in the UK. A short film summarising the results of the study will be circulated to the audience in advance of the webinar, and questions will be invited from the audience.
Sabrina and Catriona will be joined by Madhuri Bedi, Sands Outreach Coordinator for South Asian Communities, and Nicky Dias, Cruse’s National Clinical Governance Lead. The panel will be facilitated by the brilliant Hannah Jardine Youell.
