UoB Grief Seminars: Dr Emily Harrop, Understanding & Optimising the Benefits of Bereavement Support

About the event
In this talk, Emily Harrop will discuss developing and applying the evidence on ‘what works’ in bereavement support to improve access to and optimise the delivery of equitable and effective bereavement care. She will discuss research findings on the benefits of different types of bereavement interventions, and their application in two impact projects which have developed resources for the sector – the Grief Support Guide which helps people to find appropriate support and a new codebook developed to support the evaluation and quality improvement practices of bereavement services.
Emily Harrop is a Senior Research Fellow at the Marie Curie Research Centre, Cardiff University, leading the caregiving and bereavement theme at the centre. Her work focuses on examining the experiences and support needs of individuals and families facing advanced illness and loss, with a particular interest in developing evidence and interventions to improve support.
This event is part of a new seminar series organised by the Bristol Centre for Grief Research and Engagement, in association with the Good Grief Festival.
The seminar will be online and we will send the link to all registered attendees around 24 hours before the start time. If you have any questions, please email: [email protected]
