Finding a Way Forward That Honours Our Loss (Webinar)
About the event
This is the seventh session of the Grief Academy course When Grief Is Complicated.
In this session, Julia Samuel MBE and Dr Andrew Blades help us reflect on what we have learned over the course and which strategies or techniques seem most useful for us right now. They explore how grief can become complicated, considering how emotions like guilt, anger and self-blame might affect our experience.
Julia and Andrew also think about how to set boundaries that keep us safe, as well as ways to develop our resilience. They suggest a variety of practical and creative strategies to celebrate and connect to those who have died, considering how we can survive, and even thrive, through life’s inevitable highs and lows.
In this session, we explore:
- What is the role of guilt, anger and self-blame in the grieving process?
- How can we show self-compassion, tune into our needs and be kind to ourselves?
- How do we set boundaries when we are grieving?
- How can we stay connected to the person who has died whilst allowing other relationships to grow?
Our When Grief Is Complicated course offers immediate access to seven recorded sessions – and accompanying resources – on demand for six months.
