#UGiveHope Celebration

About the event
Join artistes and performers from the African and Caribbean Diaspora in the UK and abroad for #UGiveHope, an inclusive evening of live entertainment celebrating the lives of those we have loved and lost.
We are excited to partner with the Ubele Initiative and BAMEStream for the festival’s warm-up event, featuring poetry, spoken word, drumming, calypso, reggae and steelpan! Hosted by DJ SuperTrini Vibes.
Started by the team at the Ubele Initiative and BAMEStream, #UGiveHope originated during the COVID-19 pandemic as a space for the Black community to come together to share their talents, be entertained and have conversations with each other as they coped with isolation and grief.
The Ubele Initiative is an African diaspora led inter-generational social enterprise with the purpose of helping to build more sustainable communities across the UK. It supports a wide range of communities, community-based organisations and groups through social action, community enterprise development and next-generation leadership initiatives. BAMEStream is an alliance of practitioners, therapists, policy specialists, organisations, activists and academics who specialise in the areas of mental health and wellbeing and aim to bring the mental health needs of the Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic community into the mainstream.
